The AAA Children's Outing, a legacy event for AAA, marked its 116th year this year, as hundreds of children from disadvantaged backgrounds were treated to an all-expense-paid trip to the world-famous amusement park, Kings Island.

This special tradition, supported by donations from AAA members, has been a cornerstone of AAA's commitment to making an impact in the communities where they live and serve.

The event began in 1907 as a simple picnic for children from orphanages, but over the years, it has evolved into a larger, organised trip. Today, more than 20 AAA volunteers give their time and energy to make the AAA Children's Outing possible.

Tom Wiedemann, CEO of AAA Club Alliance, expressed his gratitude for the generosity of AAA Members and the AAA volunteers. "The AAA Children's Outing is a testament to the power of community and the generosity of our members," Wiedemann said. "We are proud to continue this legacy event and bring joy to hundreds of children each year."

This year's outing included a complimentary lunch, transportation to and from the park, and special treats. The group included children from the Salvation Army of Covington and other agencies in the tristate area.

The children were looking forward to having the time of their lives during the outing. "This event means so much to these children," Wiedemann added. "It's more than just a day at an amusement park; it's a chance for them to experience joy and create memories that will last a lifetime."

The AAA Children's Outing continues to be a special tradition, reflecting AAA's increased resources and commitment to enriching children's lives with memorable experiences beyond a single-day picnic. For more information about the history of the AAA Children's Outing and its evolution, we recommend consulting the archives or historical records of the specific AAA club organizing the event, or contacting that AAA club directly.

The AAA Club Alliance, in its dedication to community impact, is not only focused on transportational aspects such as providing complimentary transportation to Kings Island, but also extends their reach to lifestyle enhancements, as evidenced by their support for outdoor-living experiences like the AAA Children's Outing. In this light, the organization's home-and-garden initiatives could potentially include projects that promote outdoor-living, ensuring a holistic approach to improving the lives of children in their communities.
