World Art Dubai 2025 Commences Tomorrow at Dubai World Trade Centre
World Art Dubai (WAD) 2025, set to take place from April 17 to April 20 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, is gearing up to deliver one of the UAE's most exciting cultural events of the year. This immersive art experience, now in its fifth edition, promises to be a vibrant, inclusive platform showcasing contemporary and diverse art from around the globe.
The event is characterized by immersive installations, curated presentations, and experimental formats that engage audiences beyond traditional gallery viewing, creating a dynamic art fair experience. This year, WAD 2025 features over 400 artists and 10,000 artworks, with more than 10,000 artworks on display, ranging from classic oil paintings to cutting-edge digital pieces.
One of the highlights of WAD 2025 is the exhibition titled SHAKTI, featuring works by 21 women artists, emphasizing diversity and female artistic expression. The event also boasts new pavilions from Mongolia, Estonia, Zimbabwe, Australia, and China, which is the Country of Honour.
World Art Dubai complements Dubai's expanding role as a key global art market hub. Events like World Art Dubai work alongside initiatives such as Dubai Public Art and Dubai Culture’s education programs to foster the development of the UAE’s cultural infrastructure and support local and regional artists.
Like other Dubai art fairs, WAD features a blend of regional Middle Eastern/North African art alongside global contemporary perspectives, providing a platform for underrepresented geographies and emerging voices. The Emirati Pavilion will debut at WAD 2025, showcasing 50 pioneering Emirati artists, including Mohammed Al Astad, Rashid Al Mulla, Abdulrahim Salim, and Dr. Najat Makki.
The Art Mentorship Programme, now in its second year, has seen a 100% increase in mentees. The programme will provide Emirati artists with a unique opportunity to collaborate with renowned mentors such as Rashid Al Mulla, Dr. Najat Makki, and Abdulraheem Salim.
The Textile Hub, run by yarn specialists Handmayk, will feature 14 artists from nine countries promoting textile art in various mediums. Visitors can participate in fun workshops in tufting, weaving, embroidery, and fabric manipulation.
WAD 2025 aims to foster a global exchange of ideas and welcomes visitors of all types, including industry professionals and families intrigued by art. The fair will also include 54 live performances of music and art, 12 world pavilions, and 10 talks from industry experts.
