St. Antonius Shooting Brotherhood Düsseldorf-Hassels Prepares for Annual Shooting Festival
The St. Antonius Shooting Brotherhood Düsseldorf-Hassels is gearing up for its annual shooting festival, a tradition steeped in local history and community spirit. This year's event, scheduled to start on May 1st, promises a series of exciting activities, including shooting competitions, parades, and the crowning of the new majesties.
The reigning majesties, André and Claudia Kupferschmidt, inspected the assembled shooters at the St. Antonius Church on May 18th, ahead of the festival. Accompanying them were Sophia Totrinc, the youth princess, and Stella Kaiser, the Bambini princess. Notably, Lukas Klauke, the future Bambini prince of 2024, participated in the inspection after missing last year's festival due to illness.
The Hasseler youth shooters have been actively involved in the festival preparations, demonstrating their enthusiasm and commitment to the tradition.
The Gut Schuss society, a subgroup within the brotherhood responsible for organising shooting activities, maintaining traditions, and ensuring good marksmanship, is also celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
In addition to the traditional shooting competitions and ceremonies, this year's festival will feature a variety of entertainment options. An '80s/'90s party took place in the festival tent on Saturday, and attractions such as the "Fly Over" chain carousel and the "Karibik Coaster" are available for visitors.
The new majesties of the festival are yet to be elected, with the coronation ball set to take place on shooting festival Tuesday. The youth had their performance at the prince's ball on Sunday evening, and Emilia Weiß has been announced as the new Bambini princess.
A highlight of the festival in the southern districts of Düsseldorf is the clog dance ball, which will take place on Monday. The festival will culminate in the crowning of the new regimental king and queen, Raimund and Andrea Kaiser, at the coronation ball.
Unfortunately, due to a camera malfunction, only photos from the beginning of the parade are available in the photo gallery. Nevertheless, the St. Antonius Shooting Brotherhood Düsseldorf-Hassels' shooting festival is sure to be a memorable event, bringing together the community in celebration of tradition, marksmanship, and camaraderie.
André and Claudia Kupferschmidt, the reigning majesties, are preparing to host a lifestyle event at their home-and-garden, incorporating the traditional St. Antonius Shooting Brotherhood Düsseldorf-Hassels activities as part of their anniversary celebration. The Hasseler youth, enthusiastically involved in the festival preparations, are looking forward to showcasing their garden's beauty to the community, as they celebrate the brotherhood's 50th anniversary and the traditional home-and-garden lifestyle.
