Weekly Crusader Highlight: Mario Kyprianides (April 11th Edition)
Mario Kyprianides, a Psychology major at Holy Cross College, hails from Queens, NY. His favourite TV show is "The Sopranos," and he enjoys spending time at Crossroads, a popular spot on campus. When it comes to travel, Paris takes the top spot on his list, while his favourite movie is a tie between "Dead Poets Society" and the comedic classic "Starsky and Hutch."
Academically, Mario excels. With a major in Psychology, he has a keen interest in understanding human behaviour. His favourite class so far has been Judgement and Decision Making with Prof. Hallahan. Mario's academic achievements include maintaining a strong GPA, and he has also been recognised for his academic performance.
Outside of the classroom, Mario is actively involved in campus life. He is a member of the Holy Cross Club Rugby team and the Hellenic Society, where he has made many friends and honed his teamwork skills. His favourite memory at Holy Cross involves playing rugby and making new friends.
Mario is also passionate about his personal interests. He enjoys watching Manchester United and the Baltimore Ravens, and his favourite song is "Monster" by Chief Keef. In his downtime, he can be found relaxing with his girlfriend or enjoying a Crunchwrap Supreme from Taco Bell, his guilty pleasure.
Looking forward, Mario plans to work for a few years after graduation before attending law school. His career aspirations are aligned with his academic pursuits, as he aims to apply his understanding of human behaviour to the legal field.
Mario's life at Holy Cross is not without its embarrassing moments. One such moment involved wearing a onesie to class when he was feeling unwell, only to realise later that he looked rather silly.
In the future, Mario hopes to see an additional dining hall that stays open later for students who can't make it to Kimball before 8 p.m. This change would make life a bit easier for many students on campus.
In addition to his academic and extracurricular activities, Mario is the Eggplant Editor for an unspecified publication at Holy Cross. His favourite colour is navy blue and pink, and he enjoys black iced coffee from Cool Beans. Mario's favourite book is "Fight Club" by Chuck Palahniuk, and he lives by the words, "If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good. If you play good, they pay good," a quote by Deion Sanders.
Mario is interested in various campus events, particularly those surrounding the Holy Cross Club Rugby team and the Hellenic Society, where he practices teamwork and makes friends. He finds the Judgement and Decision Making class intriguing, as it aligns with his major in Psychology. In his leisure time, he enjoys staying updated on news about sustainable living and home-and-garden topics, likely to create a comfortable home post-graduation. After graduation and prior to law school, he plans to engage in professional sports like watching Manchester United and the Baltimore Ravens, and listen to music like "Monster" by Chief Keef. In the future, he hopes to see sustainable living practices incorporated more on the Holy Cross campus, such as an additional dining hall that stays open later, and he aspires to be the Eggplant Editor for a campus publication, focusing on news and lifestyle topics.
