Hola-Utopia! Street Art Festival Returns to Braunschweig

The Hola-Utopia! Street Art Festival is set to return to Braunschweig from July 28 to August 3, bringing a vibrant mix of international and regional graffiti and street artists to the city. This year's festival, organized by the Hip Hop Culture Association, promises to be bigger and more diverse than ever.

A highlight of the festival is a five-day breaking workshop for children and young people, taking place in the rooms of the Kinderschutzbund with support from Magni & Friends. The young dancers will learn the basics of breaking and perform at the street jam on the festival's Saturday.

Sponsorship for the festival comes from the Baugenossenschaft Wiederaufbau, who are supporting the event with a facade at the DRK Social Station Am Queckenberg, and the Braunschweigische Landessparkasse (BLSK), who are also a sponsor for the festival. The sponsored canvases serve as a visible sign of the sponsor's commitment to urban art, creativity, and cultural promotion.

The artists participating in the second round of the Hola-Utopia! Street Art Festival in Braunschweig in 2025 include SODA from Italy, known for abstract lettering and geometric shapes, who will be painting at the Kalenwall-Bunker. Galleta Maria from Spain will be working in the Weststadt area at the DRK-Sozialstation on Straße Am Queckenberg. BeNeR1, active in Wolfenbüttel on Lange Straße, and PINKY PONKO from Braunschweig, collaborating with friends on a new mural in Leopoldstraße near Okerinsel, are also among the artists taking part.

Other artists expected to take part include BONA, Philipp Uthmann, Code Red, Christoph Wüstenhagen, HurryCans, Bokz, Myra, and Tasilo. This artist collective brings a vibrant combination of well-known local figures and international graffiti and street artists, contributing to multiple mural locations and a varied festival program featuring workshops, street jams, talk rounds, breaking events, and open-air cinema throughout Braunschweig and nearby Wolfenbüttel.

The opening ceremony will take place within the framework of the Okerinsel Flair, together with the BLSK. After the festival, the painted canvases can be made available to sponsors as permanent loan pieces. Sponsorship covers materials, artist fees, and the presentation of the works within the festival.

Sponsorship for mobile canvases is also available for individuals, companies, and institutions during the Hola-Utopia! Street Art Festival. The sponsored mobile walls will be live-painted by various artists during the festival, as in 2024. The framework program for the festival includes open-air cinema evenings, talk formats, jams, and other urban cultural events.
