Vendors and producers in Renfrew have a promising business chance: A new market store and green grocer has opened in Golden Lake.
Ready to roll with an engaging rewrite of the Golden Gatherings piece? Here we go!
Step into the vibrant heart of Golden Lake, where Golden Gatherings reigns as a community gem!
Whether you need to check off your shopping list, find the perfect present for a friend, or wish to immerse in local charm, make Golden Gatherings your go-to destination alongside Lake Dore Road.
Behind its name and vision stands the spirited Jessica Gibson, co-owner and the driving force behind Handmade Herbology. Gibson, having roamed the local farmers' market circuit, understood the importance of mutual support and community solidarity.
"Golden Gatherings is all about celebrating the amazing spirits and creations of our fantastic local community," shares Gibson.
The 1800s two-story log cabin has been lovingly restored into a trove of local treasures, with a surprise around every corner. Circle back each week, and you'll find the fridges and freezers brimming with fresh produce, meats, and prepared meals sourced from the nearby farmers and vendors. The shelves are overflowing with dried goods, herbs, jarred favorites, and cooking essentials to tickle your taste buds and elevate your mealtime.
Cleaning up after your healthy feast is a breeze with the natural dish soap and biodegradable paper towels stocked on the shelves. You'll also find a range of Gibson's own creations like soaps, bath bombs, moisturizers, cooking blends, vinegar, and juices dotted throughout the store.
"That's just the tip of the iceberg," Gibson says with a smile.
The upstairs is a bustling hub of local crafts, hosting everything from jewelry and crochet items to pottery, wood carvings, and glassworks. A plethora of totes, postcards, and handcrafted items are on display, along with space for vintage vendors to showcase their collections.
As a nod to its historical past as a bookstore, Golden Gatherings boasts a double-sided bookshelf featuring local authors and hosting a lending library. Gibson invites locals to sign out books for a couple of weeks at no cost. Non-residents, though, will need to deposit a small fee. Settle down with your book and a cup of coffee on the upstairs floor, and experience the cozy ambiance.
"There's so much potential in this space," says Gibson, with sparkling eyes.
Golden Gatherings plans to host guest speakers, workshops, meditation circles, and various services on the upper level. Upcoming events are in the works, with the official opening celebration set for May 17 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live music, vendor tastings, and a bustling market.
Stay tuned for more updates on workshops, guest speakers, and services at Golden Gatherings! Until then, drop by on April at 3295 Lake Dore Road, Golden Lake, and welcome the warm embrace of community spirit.
