Noel Green Nature: A Harmonious Blend of Nature and Modern Living

In the heart of Kerala, India, a 1,800 sq ft residence named Noel Green Nature is making waves for its unique design that seamlessly merges indoor living with the outdoors. The brainchild of Ranjit John Architects and Studio 126, this home is an urban oasis that offers a refreshing take on modern residential architecture.

The design of Noel Green Nature is heavily inspired by nature's green tones and lush bounty. Joel R. Pio John, from Ranjit John Architects, explains that the earthy, rustic palette was chosen to reflect the natural environment they aimed to bring inside. The interior features an earthy, rustic palette, with green hues, brick, Kota stone, and wood, creating a harmonious blend of traditional materials and modern residential functions.

The architectural layout of the residence includes formal and informal living rooms, a kitchen, dining room, three bedrooms, and two balconies. This thoughtful design balances privacy with openness to the natural surroundings, ensuring that the home feels like a natural retreat rather than a conventional indoor space.

Sruthi Jaffin, Design Director at Studio 126, and Jesvin Rachel, Interior Design Head, have both contributed significantly to the project. Their collaboration resulted in an integrated architectural and interior design approach that captures elements like sunlight playing with leaves and the textures of the natural environment, creating a sensory connection to nature.

The foyer of Noel Green Nature is a welcoming focal point rooted in green nature themes, blending harmoniously with its landscape. This urban oasis theme extends throughout the home, emphasising a deep connection with nature through material choices, natural color schemes, spatial planning, and sensory experiences.

Noel Green Nature's design is a testament to a thoughtful approach to sustainable and context-sensitive architecture. It's a home that feels both private and in tune with Kerala’s lush greenery, offering its inhabitants a unique living experience that connects them with nature every day.

In this urban oasis, the interior design of Noel Green Nature carries forward the connection with nature, integrating green hues, brick, Kota stone, and wood for a harmonious blend of sustainable living and modern lifestyle within the home-and-garden context. Sruthi Jaffin, Design Director at Studio 126, and Jesvin Rachel, Interior Design Head, have collaboratively designed an immersive sensory experience that captures the essence of nature, extending the outdoor landscape into the indoor living space.
