Street on Kolberger has been emptied
After a year-long construction period, the Kolberger Straße in Nordhorn has reopened, boasting several significant improvements. The renovation project, which cost around 1.3 million euros, was carried out by KEV Bau GmbH.
The newly laid sidewalks now measure between 2.00 to 2.20 meters in width, providing ample space for pedestrians. A notable feature of these sidewalks is their permeable paving, designed to prevent flooding during heavy rain and relieve the sewer system.
Two bus stops along the Kolberger Straße have been made barrier-free and equipped with waiting halls, complete with roofing. This upgrade was funded by the Lower Saxony State Transport Company and the County of Grafschaft Bentheim.
Six trees have been planted along the street, an increase from the previous two, adding a touch of greenery to the revamped area.
The reopening ceremony was attended by various officials and representatives from the city, construction companies, and residents. Among the attendees were Mayor Thomas Berling, several council members, City Building Director Milena Schauer, representatives of the construction companies, the city of Nordhorn, and the residents themselves.
The construction work on Kolberger Straße was carried out by the firm Beton-und Monierbau from Nordhorn. The completion of the Kolberger Straße construction marks the end of this extensive renovation project.
