At the prestigious Open Championship held at Royal Portrush in 2025, golf enthusiasts and spectators alike are flocking to the official pop-up store for a wide array of merchandise. The store, known as The Shop, boasts 28,500 square feet of retail space and 70 tills to accommodate the influx of visitors.

The collection is diverse, catering to both practical needs and souvenir-seekers. Blade and mallet putter covers, driver and wood covers, and zip-up tote bags for storing tees, ball markers, and other small golfing items are available, alongside prints of Wybranski's poster artwork related to The Open.

Classic accessories styled in The Open's traditional navy and gold colours are also on offer, providing a subtle yet stylish touch. While exact prices for these items are not explicitly listed, they are described as accessible, with both online purchases via the official R&A website and in-person purchases at Royal Portrush throughout the tournament weekend.

In addition to these offerings, official partners like FootJoy and Flag & Anthem are promoting golf apparel in connection with the event, though specific pricing details are not provided.

The store's ambience is as inviting as its merchandise. Inside, the air conditioning is aggressively chilly, and the music plays themes of triumph, hope, and perseverance, fitting for the competitive spirit of The Open.

On the first day of the competition, the store opens at 6:30am and closes at 8:30pm. By 9:30am, there were already 60 people in the queue, with another 150 joining by 9:50am. The queue is not for the Open, but for merchandise, as 60% of the 24,000 people who visited the golf course on Tuesday dropped by The Shop.

The store has been busier than expected, with one customer reportedly spending £13,000. The most popular item on the shelves is the 153rd Open Pin Flag, retailing at £25. Prices range from £12 for a ball marker to £695 for a Titleist Open golf bag.

As the tournament continues, it is expected to attract a record-breaking 278,000 spectators, making it the largest attendance for The Open outside of St Andrews. With such a significant crowd, the pop-up store at Royal Portrush promises to be a bustling hub of golf-related excitement.

For those unable to attend, fear not! The merchandise is also available online via the official R&A website, ensuring that fans worldwide can join in the celebration of The Open Championship 2025.

  1. Despite the variety of merchandise at The Shop, fans of fashion-and-beauty and home-and-garden finds may be slightly disappointed, as the store primarily focuses on golf-related items.
  2. Besides golf equipment like putter covers and tote bags, The Shop offers a selection of classic accessories styled in The Open's traditional navy and gold colors, providing a subtle fashion statement for golf enthusiasts.
  3. To complement the golf-themed shopping experience, official partners like FootJoy and Flag & Anthem are offering fashionable golf apparel to commemorate the event, giving visitors an opportunity to spruce up their lifestyle with a chic sporty twist.
