Self-Driving Vehicles and Entrepreneurship in Silicon Valley: A Look at the Journey
In the heart of San Francisco, Florian Scherl, the founder of Explaino.ai, and his team have set up base at the second EWOR Founder House. This historic move marks the beginning of a two-month residency in the Silicon Valley, aimed at preparing Explaino.ai for the US market.
Upon landing in San Francisco, the team's first order of business was securing their accommodation, skillfully arranged by EWOR in the vibrant Mission District. The second EWOR Founder House served as their home and office during their stay, providing a comfortable environment to settle in and adjust to the new surroundings.
Florian Scherl's primary goal is to understand the American market's intricacies and develop a successful go-to-market strategy for the USA. To achieve this, he plans to connect with American investors early on, leveraging the opportunities provided by the EWOR Residency to learn from their experiences, gain feedback, and build initial relationships.
The team has already mapped out their time in Silicon Valley, with a focus on investor meetings, founder lunches, and sessions with other founders. Florian Scherl is particularly excited about these upcoming interactions, viewing them as invaluable opportunities to learn and grow.
In addition to networking, the team also aims to set up Explaino technically and in terms of branding to meet the expectations of a real Silicon Valley startup. This transformation process began as soon as they moved into their new home, with their room quickly being transformed into an office.
During their stay, Florian Scherl and his co-founder, Philipp, experienced their first ride in a self-driving Waymo car in San Francisco, a testament to the city's commitment to the future of transportation.
At the second EWOR Founder House, Florian Scherl was warmly welcomed by the rest of the community, including the EWOR team, their partners Daniel and Peter, and a mix of new faces and old acquaintances from the EWOR community. The atmosphere in the house was one of excitement and eagerness, with everyone ready to bring questions, resources, and energy to the table.
This journey forms the second part of Florian Scherl's column on Gruenderszene, offering a unique insight into the experiences of a European startup navigating the challenges and opportunities of the Silicon Valley. Stay tuned for more updates as Florian and his team continue their exciting journey in the heart of innovation.
