Saturday's Race Starting Line with Brötzinger
The 45th Brotzinger Saturday cultural district festival is set to take place in Brotzingen, offering a day filled with performances, exhibitions, and culinary delights for all age groups. The event, presented by the Cultural Office and the Weststadt Citizens' Association, is free for all to attend.
The day will kick off at 2 pm with an opening ceremony led by the First Mayor Dirk Buscher, accompanied by the firefighters' marching band. The show stage in the pedestrian zone promises variety, featuring performances by jazz musicians, Spanish flamenco dancers, judo friends, Aileen Sager, and the band "PAENG".
For theatre enthusiasts, Raphael Mürle will present excerpts from his puppet theater program, while the Mottenkafig will show "Hörbe" and "Ganovenmäuse" for the whole family. Music lovers can enjoy live performances at Café Exil, while the traditional Club de Amigos in the pedestrian zone offers Paella and flamenco music.
The Bistro Point offers German-Greek dishes, and the X-Café-Bistro Cevapcici is another food option at the festival. Further culinary delights can be found at the stands of the youth fire brigade and the Mottenkafig. The varied gastronomy in the pedestrian zone, side streets, and shady chestnut courtyard offers various delicacies.
The Brotzinger Art Gallery will show the new exhibition "Transition" with pictures by Anja Klafki. The city museum will also be open until 6 pm and will present "The Room of Possibilities".
Public transportation is recommended due to limited parking options, as city buses will bypass the area, and stops Marktplatz Brotzingen and Stadtmuseum will be out of service. The Kirchenstraße and the pedestrian zone will be closed to traffic for the Brotzinger Saturday.
The Southwest German Chamber Orchestra and harpist Angela Grether will perform in the Martinskirche after the opening. Don't miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich cultural scene of Brotzingen!
