Sara Palmieri Steers Burlington Performing Arts Centre into 15th Season
Sara Palmieri, a seasoned professional with over two decades in the performing arts, has been at the helm of the Burlington Performing Arts Centre (BPAC) as its Executive Director for eight months. She succeeded Tammy Fox, who departed unexpectedly, and brings a wealth of experience to the role.
Palmieri's journey in the arts began in 2003 at the Centre for the Arts, Brock University, where she served as a media and communications assistant. She then moved to the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre in St. Catharines, where she was the inaugural Director of Programming & Marketing from 2015 to 2025.
Now, at BPAC, Palmieri oversees two main stages: the Main Theatre, which can accommodate over 725 people, and the intimate Community Theatre, seating 100. Additionally, there's a spacious open area with a cash bar, capable of hosting up to 250 guests. Palmieri aims to utilise these versatile spaces to highlight local talent and engage the community in performances.
As the 2025-2026 season marks the 15th anniversary of BPAC, Palmieri's vision for the centre is to celebrate this milestone by involving local artists and audiences in unique and exciting ways.
With her extensive background and passion for the arts, Sara Palmieri is poised to lead the Burlington Performing Arts Centre into its 15th anniversary season. Her focus on local talent and community participation promises an engaging and dynamic programme for BPAC's patrons.
