Get ready, students of Munich! The summer holidays of 2025 are packed with exciting, no-cost activities that cater to a variety of interests. Whether you're an art enthusiast, a STEM whiz, or a history buff, there's something for everyone.

Starting from July 3rd, the city will play host to the 37th Open Art Munich Gallery Weekend and the University Summer Festival of LMU Munich. These events offer free access to galleries, guided tours, educational programs, and exhibitions, providing excellent opportunities for students to explore art and culture.

For those with a keen interest in the future, the Festival of the Future at the Deutsches Museum’s Forum of the Future (July 3 to 5) is a must-visit. This free event features workshops, games, and interactive exhibits about AI, climate tech, quantum technology, Web3, and the metaverse.

If you're more into history and urban exploration, visits to the Justizpalast (Palace of Justice) and the Munich 1972 Massacre Memorial, both free entry, provide rich learning experiences. Exploring sites like the Asamkirche, Karlstor gate, Odeonsplatz, and the student bungalows at Olydorf can add to a student’s cultural activities, encouraging local history and urban art appreciation.

BMW World, free to enter, offers unique exposure to automotive technology, suitable for students interested in engineering or design.

Along the Isar river, the ongoing Kulturstrand initiative offers music, exhibitions, and other programming ideal for summer engagement by students.

On the last day of school, July 31st, climbing students who visit Boulderwelt Munich (South, West, or East) will receive a free Monster Slush or ice cream when they show their report card.

As the summer holidays begin on Thursday, July 31st, students in Bavaria receive their report cards. To make the most of your holidays, consider the Munich Holiday Pass. Available for children and young people aged 6-17, it offers discounted entry to various activities, free public bath entry, and discounts at Umadum, Wildpark Poing, or Zoo Hellabrunn. With the Munich Holiday Pass, children between 6-14 also receive free MVV travel (valid for zones M to 6).

On Monday, August 4th, vacation children up to 15 years old can go to Spitzingsee for free. At Spitzingsee, children can enjoy one free ride on the Taubensteinbahn, up to 3 mountain rides on the Stümpflingbahn, a free marble run, and up to 3 descents with MountainCarts (for children 1.35m tall, helmets required, sunglasses recommended).

In Fairytale Park Marquartstein, children who start school in September will have free entry for the entire month of September (accompanied by a full-paying adult).

On the first official holiday, August 1st, every student can visit Fresch Freising's swimming pool for €5 with a student ID. The Holiday Pass costs 14 € for children aged 6-14, and 10 € for young people aged 15-17 (without MVV free ticket).
