Remastered traditional Range Rover showcases Italian design element, introducing an Italian flair to the British automotive emblem
In a fusion of vintage charm and modern comfort, Italian automotive company Vinile has introduced a limited-edition restomod of the iconic Range Rover Classic. Based in Maranello, home to Ferrari, Vinile has made its mark with a unique approach that preserves the original character of the British machine while integrating contemporary features.
The first of the 15-car limited-edition run boasts a metallic green exterior with a glossy black roof, contrasting yellow pinstripes, and an interior finished in 'Bo.Hemian Choco' and 'Bo.Hemian Savana' leather. The interior is adorned with white poplar burl wood details, a solid block of which forms a redesigned central tunnel. The car's original engine is retained, restored, and lightly upgraded, with an increased horsepower of 200hp compared to the original 167hp.
The interior tech takes inspiration from contemporary Rovers, featuring a floating nav and info touch screen above the 70s-style heating controls. Aesthetics play a significant role in Vinile's approach, as evidenced by the aviation-inspired switches for the windows and lights, including puddle lighting in-line with contemporary luxury cars. The ignition button is inspired by a vinyl record, and the owner can attach their wristwatch in a special mount beneath the information screen to serve as the onboard clock.
The car's restoration required 2,100 hours of craftsmanship. Other notable features include the original 16″ split-rim wheels, rubber floors with custom mats for practical durability, fog lights, a tilt steering wheel, crank windows, and a dash-mounted three-gauge cluster, all retaining classic interior controls. Modern updates like new gauges, electric wipers, a Bluetooth stereo with a Rockford Fosgate dash speaker, and a USB port integrate contemporary convenience.
The car features a ten-speaker and two sub-woofer audio system, complete with DAB radio, powered by three Rockford amplifiers. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are installed, ensuring seamless connectivity. The vehicle was unveiled at Milan Design Week.
