Recreational activities within and near the Youth Hostel amidst forests
The Youth Guest House in Rödinghausen is hosting a captivating holiday camp for children aged 8 to 12 years old, taking place from October 20 to 24, 2025. This nature-focused camp, organized by the Jugendherbergswerk (Youth Hostel Association), the district of Herford, and Verein Helden e.V., promises an unforgettable experience for young explorers who love the forest and all its wonders.
During the camp, children will embark on forest exploration games, learn about birdlife, and even participate in a night walk under the stars. The highlight of the camp will undoubtedly be the campfire, a traditional gathering where stories and memories are shared.
Binoculars usage will be taught, helping children to spot and identify various forest creatures more easily. The camp is designed to foster a love for nature and encourage a deeper understanding of the forest ecosystem.
The cost per child for the holiday camp is 120 euros. For those from outside the district of Herford, the price is 150 euros. Siblings attending the camp can do so for 90 euros each.
