Pop-up Store at Schlossberg: Schedule for August and September Unveiled
The "Bierle-Bar" is set to return to the Schwabentor pop-up store in Freiburg for an extended period from August to September 2025. This temporary Aperitivo bar, a collaboration between the Ganter brewery and machn: innovation agency, showcases their joint project, "Freiburger Bierle", a regional organic beer brewed directly in Freiburg [1][4].
The Bierle-Bar offers visitors an array of surprising ideas, varied events, and inspiring exhibitions, appealing to all ages. The success of this unique establishment has led to its extension, as it was initially scheduled to end in July 2025 [2].
This innovative project won the Freiburg Innovation Prize 2025 on July 14, 2025. The award honours the creation of Freiburger Bierle as a sustainable, regionally produced bio-beer and the innovative approach of reviving city centre spaces temporarily via the pop-up store concept [1][3]. This approach is part of a broader federal program supporting sustainable inner cities and centers ("Zukunftsfähige Innenstädte und Zentren" - ZIZ).
FWTM, the project's initiator, is continuing to develop the pop-up store format with local actors, building upon the success of the Bierle-Bar. The continued development of the pop-up store is also supported by the "Future-Proof Cities and Centers" (ZIZ) program [1][6].
