Renovations editor, Faiza Saqib, chose the Green Highgrove Table Lamp Base with the Ocher Yellow Velvet Lamp Shade, while design writer Maya Glantz prefers the Cream Moreton Table Lamp Base, paired with the Ochre Yellow Tweedy Lamp Shade. She describes her chosen design as "mob-wife chic".
The collection also offers 12 different lamp shade styles to choose from, including finishes like velvet, box-pleat, and 'tweedy'. Customers can also customise the size of the lamp base and shade to suit their needs.
Abby Keenan selected a lamp design with a blue-green base and a navy velvet shade, while Olivia Wolfe's design features an amber base with a light blue box pleat shade, following the current color trends of baby blue and brown. Debbie Black was drawn to the Highgrove design and the Honey Yellow Geo lamp shade.
Editor Hugh Metcalf initially chose a lamp design similar to Amiya's, but later opted for a glass base with a green pleated shade, preferring a more classic style of lampshade.
The collection is available on Next's website, making it easy for customers to browse and customise their perfect lamp. Prices for the lamps start at just £20, with the designer-feeling lamps available under £60 each, making it an affordable option for those looking to update their home decor.
Despite the collection's success, the name of the designer who developed the lamps for Next remains a mystery. However, one thing is certain - the collection offers a fresh and exciting take on lamp design, allowing customers to express their personal style in a meaningful way.
