The Smokey campaign is the longest public advertising campaign that has ever existed in the United States, and its longevity is a point of pride for Sara Lee, the lead librarian for special collections at NAL. The collection is open to the public by appointment, and casual visitors can browse a display featuring collection highlights of Smokey Bear.
