King Charles III's Quirky Tie: A Splash of Color at the Education and Skills Garden Party
Monarch Charles III hosts an outdoor gathering in palace gardens - Monarch King Charles is hosting a garden soiree.
Last week, the "Educiction and Skilly" bash went down at Buckingham Palace, celebrating the unsung heroes of the education sector. Backed by the Department for Education, the shindig brought together a whopping 7,000 folks from the educative sphere. King Charles III (76) and Queen Camilla (77) rolled out the red carpet for the guests in sweltering temperatures upon the lawn. The Palace recently posted an Instagram video, capturing the garden party vibes for those "blooming amazing peeps in education." The Daily Mail reported an unusual detail about King Charles' suit-and-tie combo.
The King appeared dapper in a stylish grey morning suit with a black top hat, ensuring adherence to the dress code for these garden soirees. But it was the cream waistcoat paired with an eye-catching light blue tie boasting adorable cartoon submarines that truly stole the show. Social media images from our savvy garden party guests shed light on this fun accessory. As for Queen Camilla, the Daily Mail reveals she donned a crisp white midi dress with silver embroidery by Anna Valentine, a hat by Philip Treacy, and the late Queen Elizabeth II's diamond Jardine-Star brooch for the alfresco occasion.
Summer of Garden Fetes
The Palace had announced way back in May that three royal garden parties would grace our calendars this summer. The first took place on May 7 at Buckingham Palace, followed by another on May 20 at the same location. The third is set for July 1 at The Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, Scotland. Alongside these three, two themed garden parties have been announced: an Education and Skills celebration and the annual garden party of the Not Forgotten Association hosted by Brigitte, the Duchess of Gloucester (78).
The Not Forgotten Association focuses on entertaining and providing recreation for former military personnel and those currently serving our nation. Traditionally, the garden party dates back to the 1860s and offers the Monarch an opportunity to thank the outstanding members of society for their valuable contributions and honor public service. Each year, over 30,000 lucky individuals are invited to the merry garden gatherings.
