Medieval ambiance in Heusenstamm: knights, craftwork, and jesters grace the castle grounds

Step back in time this October as Schöonborn Castle in Heusenstamm transforms into a bustling medieval market. Over 50 skilled craftsmen will demonstrate traditional skills, creating a unique and immersive atmosphere.

Toys and chainmail, along with the sounds of bagpipes and drums, will set the scene for a weekend filled with history and entertainment. Musical groups "Capud Draconis" and "Krless" will serenade visitors, while "The Flying Dutchman" will captivate audiences with his tales of the spooky and the humorous.

For those with a taste for the medieval, taverns and Café Historica will serve a variety of specialties, including beef ribs, filled flatbreads, and mead. Exotic goods such as incense, silver jewelry, and precious stones will be available from travelling merchants.

To avoid long waiting times at the entrance, visitors are advised to use either the main entrance to the castle or the access from Wiesenbornweg.

The market will offer a special program for young visitors, with a manually operated carousel, harlequin games, and archery. A highlight for all ages will be the fire show by "Duo Infinity" on Saturday evening around 8 pm. "Hubertus the Wanderer" will also entertain with his juggling acts throughout the event.

The entrance fee for adults is eight euros, while children and those in costume pay just four euros. Shoemakers, potters, and leatherworkers will showcase their crafts, offering a glimpse into the artisanal skills of the past.

The medieval market at Schöonborn Castle promises to be an unforgettable experience, transporting visitors to a bygone era.
