In August 2025, Krasnodar Krai secured a notable position in the Russian stock market of automotive industry, ranking fifth for new light vehicle registrations and maintaining a strong presence in the used car market. According to analyst Ivan Petrov of the analytical company "AutoStat Info", Krasnodar Krai has become a leader in two key segments of the stock market today. In August, 4689 new cars were registered, marking a 23.2% decrease from the same period last year. However, this decline is less severe compared to the overall dynamics in Russia, where the stock market today for new light vehicles has experienced a 23.4% decrease from January to August 2025. Despite the turbulence in the car market, domestic and Chinese brands such as Lada, Chery, Changan, Haval, Geely, Jetour, and GAC have seen an increase in popularity among Krasnodar Krai residents. Jetour and GAC, in particular, have more than doubled their sales, with a 121% and 76% increase respectively. However, other brands like Lada, Chery, Changan, Haval, and Geely have shown a noticeable decrease in sales, with Lada losing 28%, Chery - 30%, Changan - 29%, Haval - 27%, and Geely - 29%. The high interest in used cars in Krasnodar Krai indicates that residents are actively updating their car fleet, albeit in conditions of reduced accessibility of new cars. In August 2025, 31,069 car registrations were recorded on the secondary market, reflecting the region's high activity in this sector. Krasnodar Krai maintained second place in the national ranking on the secondary car market in August 2025, following Moscow and ahead of St. Petersburg. The inclusion of Krasnodar Krai in federal ratings reflects the high mobility of the population and the significance of the region for the national car market. The number of vehicle registrations in Krasnodar Krai increased from around 3200 per month in January and February to 4600 per month by summer and autumn of 2025. This growth is particularly impressive considering that, except for Moscow, Moscow Oblast, St. Petersburg, and Tatarstan, Krasnodar Krai has a higher number of new car registrations than most other regions in the country. Analysts explain that both in terms of new cars and overall, Krasnodar Krai has shown signs of life compared to winter levels in 2025. This resilience in the face of stock market challenges is a testament to the region's economic vitality and the importance of the automotive industry within it.
