Get ready for an unforgettable week-long celebration as Thuringia's beloved Baumkronenpfad (Tree Canopy Path) turns 20! From August 25 to 31, 2025, visitors of all ages will have the chance to immerse themselves in a series of interactive activities, exclusive insights, and special events, all designed to honour this significant milestone.

Located within the National Park Hainich, the largest contiguous deciduous forest area in Europe, the Baumkronenpfad has long been a popular and significant excursion destination. Attracting visitors from across Germany, including families, nature lovers, school classes, and international guests, the Baumkronenpfad serves as a symbol of Thuringia's commitment to environmental education, nature-based tourism, and unique holiday experiences.

The festival week promises a variety of engaging activities, starting with special guided tours led by experts who will share fascinating insights into the forest ecosystem and the history of the Baumkronenpfad. Nature workshops will offer interactive sessions for families and children, focusing on environmental education and forest conservation.

Expanded exhibitions will showcase local flora and fauna, as well as the construction and impact of the canopy path over the past 20 years. Commemorative events will include speeches from local officials and environmentalists, celebrating two decades of the canopy path.

Cultural programs will add a festive atmosphere to the celebration, with live music, local gastronomy, and traditional Thuringian crafts. Children's activities will include adventure courses, storytelling sessions, and nature-themed games, ensuring that young visitors are also part of the celebrations.

To make the celebrations even more special, there will be anniversary-themed merchandise available, as well as discounts on combination tickets and selected shop items.
