INTRO & Oman Data Park Launch $450M Kemet Data Center in Egypt's Suez Canal Zone

INTRO Technology and Oman Data Park have joined forces to build Kemet Data Center in Egypt's Suez Canal Economic Zone. The project, valued at US$450 million, is the first partnership between the two companies and aims to meet the growing demand for cloud services and digital transformation in the Middle East and Africa.

The data center, set to span 80,000 square metres, will be developed in two phases. Orascom Construction and Telecom Egypt are involved in its construction. INTRO Technology's subsidiary, Advansys, will handle legal procedures, equipment importation, and design through its Center of Excellence. Oman Data Park will provide commercial services, overseeing the center's design, construction, and management. The center will offer cloud solutions, Internet of Things (IoT), and digital transformation services for regional and international markets.

Mamdouh Abbas, chairman of INTRO Holding, sees this partnership as a step towards expanding INTRO Technology's presence in the Middle East and Africa. Maqbool Al Wahaibi, CEO of Oman Data Park, expects the partnership to foster innovation and economic growth across the region.

Kemet Data Center, partially powered by solar energy, is set to reduce its carbon footprint while providing advanced technological services. The MoU, signed by INTRO Technology and Oman Data Park, marks a significant investment in the region's digital infrastructure.
