Industry's Future: Freiburg Event Highlights Sustainable Area Management

A panel discussion, 'Industry - Future - Area Management', took place on October 1st at the Kreativpark Lokhalle Freiburg. Around 70 representatives from politics, administration, business, and companies attended to explore the opportunities and challenges of sustainable industrial development. The event, organized by the Association of the Southern Upper Rhine Region (VRSO) and the Economic Development Region Freiburg (WRF), was part of the 'Intermunicipal Industrial Area Management Region Freiburg' project, funded by the state of Baden-Württemberg.

The event showcased practical examples from Freiburg and Esslingen, demonstrating concrete solutions for sustainable industrial development. State Secretary Andrea Lindlohr, in her keynote, emphasized the importance of area-efficient development and opportunities in existing locations. The central initiative, involving the municipalities of Emmendingen, Freiburg, Heitersheim, Neuenburg, and Staufen, aims to make existing industrial areas more future-proof and sustainable. The event concluded that joint action and networking are crucial for better utilizing areas and making industrial locations future-proof.

The 'Industry - Future - Area Management' event highlighted the importance of collaboration and sustainable practices in industrial development. With the involvement of several municipalities and the support of regional organizations, the project aims to create more efficient and sustainable industrial areas, demonstrating the potential of joint action in shaping the future of industry.
