Industrial Development in Long An Aims for Green and Sustainable Advancement
Tay Ninh Province Embraces Sustainable Industrial Development
Tay Ninh Province, located in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam, is making significant strides in promoting sustainable industrial growth. With a focus on green industries, automation, technology, innovation, and eco-friendly infrastructure, the province aims to become a model for sustainable development in the region.
The under-construction Prodezi Eco-Industrial Park, spanning 400 hectares and representing an investment of US$181 million, prioritizes hi-tech and resource-efficient industries. This park is part of the province's commitment to developing its industrial parks in a green and ecological direction.
The former Long An Provincial People's Committee, now part of Tay Ninh Province, has consistently focused on attracting investment in a modern, efficient, and sustainable manner. As a result, 37 parks spanning 10,015 hectares have been established, with 26 being eligible for investment.
The northern industrial zone of Tay Ninh Province focuses on supporting and processing industries, while the western industrial zone is being developed as a duty-free border gate industrial zone to facilitate trade between Vietnam and Cambodia.
One of the first ports in Vietnam to pilot green port models is the Long An International Port. Building green ports is an urgent solution to protect the maritime environment and meet international commitments. The area surrounding the port holds strong potential for industrial, service, and residential growth.
Many industrial zones in Vietnam have started making incremental changes to adopt green transition and renewable energy. For instance, the Đức Hòa III-Slico Industrial Park is an example of a modern, green, clean, and environmentally friendly industrial-urban area.
The Tân An-Bến Lức central industrial zone prioritizes hi-tech industries to support HCM City's industrial development. The eastern industrial zone complements the province's port development and downstream industries that rely on port services.
Trần Thiên Long, Vice Chairman of the Industrial Real Estate Association, emphasized that green industrial zones help minimize adverse impacts on the environment and foster sustainable production. The province is developing modern, well-planned industrial zones and border-gate economic zones with clean land and transparent investment environments.
In addition, Tay Ninh aims to drive industrialization and modernization by leveraging science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. This includes attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) from global corporations with advanced technologies to establish sustainable value chains and serve as anchors for supporting industries.
The province is also committed to transparency, combating corruption, and simplifying investment and construction procedures to create an open, fair, and attractive investment climate. It expedites administrative processes and ensures the readiness of infrastructure in industrial zones to attract and sustain investments.
Collaborations, such as with Singapore-based YCH Group, focus on establishing smart logistics and green infrastructure. Tay Ninh PPC accompanies these initiatives with favorable policies and resources to promote sustainable industrial and logistic development.
By 2030, the former Long An Province will become the country's second locality with the most industrial parks after the former Bình Dưữơng Province (now part of HCM City). The province aims to become an industrial and economic hub of the Mekong Delta by 2030, contributing significantly to Vietnam's sustainable development future.
