Neuss's New Playground Attraction:

Gear up for some fun in the sun, Neuss! Mayor Reiner Breuer unveiled an exciting new addition to the city's Old City Garden – the "Neuss Children's Railway" play structure. After approximately four bone-chilling weeks of winter, the playground came to life on a warm, almost summer-like weekend in late April.

With construction wrapping up recently, final touches were added, and the play area around the climbing structure was fortified with sand for safety. The funding for this beloved community project came from an anonymous donor, courtesy of Mayor Breuer's efforts. A pleased Breuer announced, "The advent of the 'Neuss Children's Railway' in the city garden underscores the magic of collaborative efforts and generosity."

The new play equipment, situated near the old steam locomotive, evokes nostalgia for city dwellers and features a series of climbing elements, such as ropes, balance beams, nets, and a breathtaking 4-meter-high climbing tower themed around train tracks. This, of course, led to the whimsical name "Neuss Children's Railway." The pièce de résistance? A suspended monorail within the climbing structure that grants young railway passengers a thrilling method of travel. Moreover, a hedge has been planted to deter the geese who frequently roam the area from encroaching onto the playground.

Get ready for a family-friendly adventure, Neuss! Mayor Breuer took a moment to express gratitude to the "Werkstatt Spiel-/Bolzplätze" team of the Office for Urban Greenery, Environment, and Climate, for their relentless dedication to this remarkable landmark.
