South Park's mini-golf course, a favorite weekend destination for many, was swarmed by day-trippers on Saturday (17.5), only to find their 18-hole game abruptly disrupted.

Last Saturday (17.5), the mini-golf course in South Park was buzzing with excitement as it played host to a lively tournament during KG Gemeinsam Jeck's summer festival. The weather was perfect, and the atmosphere was lively, setting the stage for a day of fun and friendly competition.

The tournament attracted a diverse group of participants, including the Hoppediz-Wache, Uzbröder, city guard, carnival support association, Närrischen Wehrhähne, Gemeinsam Jeck, Düsseldorfer Nordlichter, Närrische Marktfrauen, Reisholzer Quatschköpp, Düsselnarren, Närrische Lohausern, Dä Stolz von Odebach, Rather Aape, Närrische Schmetterlingen, Büdericher Heinzelmännchen with the KG Regenbogen, Us D'r Lamäng, Benrather Schlossnarren, Prinzengarde Blau-Weiss, Düsseldorfer Originalen, Tills Freunde, Jecke Dancern, KG Onger Ons, Kaiserwerther KG, Sparda Bank, and our website.

The Jecken Dancer, a dance group of KG Gemeinsam Jeck, performed to get the guests in the mood before the tournament, adding to the festive atmosphere. The mini-golf course, popular for outings, presented numerous challenges, all of which were mastered by the participants with determination and skill.

The tournament's motto, "being there is what counts and having fun," was certainly embraced by all. The top 10 teams, besides the winners, included Rather Aape, our website, Narrenzunft, Förderverein Karneval, Duesseldorfer Originale, Benrather Schlossnarren, and Tills Freunde.

The Duesseldorfer Nordlichter, represented by Olli and Änki, emerged victorious, completing the course with a combined total of 98 shots. The Prinzengarde Blau-Weiss, represented by Andreas Meyer-Falcke and Valerie, finished in second place with 102 shots, just narrowly missing the top spot. Jörg and Marc from Us D'r Lamäng secured third place with 103 shots.

Besides the players, numerous groupies were also present at the mini-golf course during the tournament, adding to the lively atmosphere. Delicious food, cold drinks, coffee, and cake were available for all guests at the festival, ensuring everyone was well-fed and refreshed throughout the day.

Following the tournament, Wolle and Fabienne provided a musical highlight in the garden, keeping the festivities going well into the evening. The golf clubs used in the tournament were crafted in a workshop for adapted work (WfaA), a testament to the event's commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.

Despite a thorough search, information about the specific participants of the mini-golf tournament remains elusive. However, the success of the event, the camaraderie among the participants, and the overall enjoyment of all who attended are clear indicators of a day well spent in South Park.

The diverse group of participants, including dance group Jecken Dancer from KG Gemeinsam Jeck, also showed an interest in home-and-garden activities, as Wolle and Fabienne provided a musical highlight in the garden following the tournament. Some of the participants, such as Tills Freunde and Rather Aape, were not only sports enthusiasts, but also appreciated the lifestyle aspect offered by the event.
