Frankfurt introduces first 'Rooftop Festival' - First Rooftop Event Holds in Frankfurt
Frankfurt Am Main to Unveil Its Skyline with Inaugural "Rooftop Day"
Frankfurt, the vibrant city of Hessen, is inviting the public to an unprecedented event - the "Rooftop Day." To be held on August 23rd, the event aims to provide a unique vantage point of the city's dynamic urban landscape.
Stephanie Wüst, Economic Development Officer from the FDP, explains the idea behind the event, "We aim to make Frankfurt's urban energy and skyline more accessible to all." The first event has already garnered support from 20 hosts, including rooftop bars, hotels, and cultural venues such as Gaia on the rooftop of the Börse parking garage, the Blasky Hotel, the historic Rententurm, and the balcony of the Mayor. More locations are being sought to increase participation.
The "Rooftop Day" is planned to occur every two years, with each host creating their own program. According to Eduard M. Singer from the City Marketing department, creativity is the only limit. Preliminary plans include poetry slams, live music, and culinary theme parties. Private individuals with rooftop terraces may join the future events.
Organized by the City Marketing Department and Tourismus+Congress GmbH Frankfurt am Main, the "Rooftop Day" hopes to attract not only residents but also visitors, aiming to establish the event as a regular fixture in the city's calendar. "Our goal is to showcase the impressive views that Frankfurt offers from above, often overlooked by citizens," says Thomas Feda, CEO of the Tourism+Congress GmbH.
Frankfurt's skyline, distinguished by modern skyscrapers and historic landmarks, is a key part of the city's identity. Home to the tallest buildings in the country, the city's skyline is as distinct as its famous apple wine or Germany's largest airport.
The "Rooftop Day" offers a chance to experience the city from a new perspective, bringing together residents, visitors, and the city's vibrant nightlife in a unique way. With its inaugural event scheduled for August 23rd, Frankfurt is poised to celebrate its skyline like never before.
The community policy regarding the "Rooftop Day" in Frankfurt encourages private individuals with rooftop terraces to participate, promoting a lifestyle that integrates outdoor-living and home-and-garden events. Each host, following the employment policy for the event, will create their own program, ranging from poetry slams, live music, and culinary theme parties, enhancing the city's urban energy and skyline accessibility for all residents and visitors.
