Destined for Greatness: John Lewis's Collaborative Collection 2025

Experienced a firsthand glance at the fresh John Lewis x Sanderson homeware assortment - these are the items I foresee flying off the shelves rapidly.

Get ready to indulge in a kaleidoscope of timeless charm and modern flair with the latest John Lewis x Sanderson collection! As this British heritage brand celebrates its grand 165th anniversary, they've teamed up with the legendary John Lewis to bring an intoxicating mix of patterns, shapes, and colors to your home.

Last month, during the John Lewis spring/summer 2025 collection preview, I had the opportunity to lay my hands on this exquisite collaboration, booking a few standouts in my mental wishlist. Now, I've had a chance to explore the collection further at Sanderson's heart in Chiswick, London, and I'm ready to share my predictions for the pieces that'll definitely be flying off the shelves.

With Sanderson boasting a veritable treasure trove of prints and patterns dating back to the brand's inception, it was only fitting to delve into the depths of this incredible archive when John Lewis and Sanderson decided to join forces.

"The mix here is vibrant and diverse," says Claire Vallis, Design Director of Sanderson Design Group. "From scenes to florals, fruits, to even a play with scales, we aimed to showcase the timeless appeal of Sanderson designs. We wanted to merge the old and the new to demonstrate how our designs effortlessly stand the test of time."

My Top Picks and the Cream of the Crop

Few things make me happier than having this magnificent, tapestry-style cushion adorning my sofa. And if you prefer a darker aesthetic, you can opt for its walnut colorway.

Valances are all the rage this season, and there's a reason why this one, with its dreamy blue hue and striking stripes, has earned the title of a "spring icon" at John Lewis.

This floral pattern also comes in a variety of forms such as cushions, bedding, and accent chairs, but it's the rug version that I'd pick, ensuring blooming flowers grace your floors.

For something a touch more subtle, the truffle pattern, inspired by a simplified archival print, will undoubtedly create a stunning backdrop for your bedroom with this stylish bedding set.

My admiration for the captivating Pamir Garden motif was so strong that I needed to make it a second entry on my list. The wallpaper version, unsurprisingly, is destined to be a smash hit!

This pick, while somewhat pricey, is an honorable mention due to its exquisite design and the current trend for striped upholstery. With four stripe colors to choose from, this piece is an ideal addition for fans of the new season of The White Lotus.

If you, like many of us at our platform, adore the latest season of The White Lotus and its sweeping aesthetic, be prepared to fall head over heels for all the items featuring the Pamir Garden motif. Whether it's cushions, curtains, wallpaper, or even a headboard, this design charges every piece it adorns with an intriguing allure.

"Pamir Garden came to the fore as a design we all loved," explains Claire at Sanderson. "The print is based on a document in our archive titled Animal Kingdom, reflecting 1970s fashion for exotic patterns and global cultures. Repuring a Persian garden, it depicts an oasis scene of floral sprigs, stylized trees, tigers, and antelopes."

And I'm not alone in my prediction that items like the Pamir Garden Cushion will be among the bestsellers. Camilla Rowe, John Lewis's Head of Accessories, concurs, "The Pamir Garden Cushions are forecasted to be top sellers. Tigers and animal motifs are in vogue in interiors, and this design embraces that trend flawlessly. It's bold, evocative, and exudes an air of luxury, effortless style."

The collection's overall aesthetic offers a harmonious blend of British design and global influences, creating an eclectic melody of patterns, from classic stripes to audacious Persian garden scenes. Although this isn't the most budget-friendly offering, I suspect that many of these pieces will pass down from generation to generation, given their rich heritage and impeccable craftsmanship.

"Between both brands, we have over 300 years of design history," Claire at Sanderson concludes. "Sanderson and John Lewis originated in the 1860s, and we wanted to not only celebrate our similarities but also embrace our differences. The collection is the product of that union, inspired by British design and characterized by its beautiful softness, fashioned with contrasting trims, frills, and expertly-layered patterns."
