Exhibitions at Erich Kästner Museum
Hey there!
On Tuesday, there's a smashing event happening at the Erich Kästner Museum! Traian Pop Traian, the renowned author, is set to dish out some literature gold at the Villa Augustin on Antonstraße. You better believe it, he'll be reading from his captivating books "Absolute Power" or "The Last Snow." These astounding novels are known for their mind-bending perspectives and intricate dis Sectiones of familiar stories. It's gonna be one helluva ride, with laughs, deep thoughts, and escapes from the ordinary realm!
Who's This Bloke, You Ask?
Traian Pop Traian, born in 1952 in the Romanian city of Brașov, is a multi-talented literary veteran. He wears many hats - writer, publisher, translator, and journalist - and has always had an insatiable appetite for creative work. During his college years, he was freelance, working as a sound engineer, copywriter, and stagehand for rock and jazz groups, panels on the German State Theater Temeswar, and cranking out critical texts for student and other magazines.
After the fall of Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu, Traian became a member of the first editorial team of the daily newspaper "Temesvar" from December 1989 to January 1990. Since 1990, this literary legend has called Ludwigsburg home, where he no doubt continues to create spellbinding stories.
Traian's literary work has been honored with prestigious awards such as the Romanian Writers' Association Prize in 2002 and the Andreas Gryphius Prize in 2020. In 2021, he nabbed the Katzendorf Village Writer Prize.
"Absolute Power" and Beyond
In his poetry collection "Absolute Power", Traian delves into existential questions that plague us all: "Who am I?" and "Where do I belong?". The texts mainly sprang to life after 1990, grappling with the past and battling its hold on him through the use of language.
Another striking example of his craft is the bilingual volume "Posledni sněh / Der letzte Schnee." This work showcases Traian's intriguing approach to language, dismantling its self-evident nature to create fresh, thought-provoking meanings. He crafts poems that challenge the status quo, urging us to reflect on objects and situations from unexpected angles.
Benedikt Dyrlich, in a commentary on his texts, highlights how they transcend everyday life, inviting us to reengage and reflect anew.
