Prepare for a literary extravaganza as the Heart of California Book Faire makes its much-anticipated return to Madera, California, on Saturday, August 23, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This free event, open to both authors and guests, will take place at the Madera United Methodist Church, located at 500 W Sunset Avenue in Madera.

The Heart of California Book Faire, formerly known as the Heart of the Valley Book Faire, will feature close to 50 authors selling and signing their books from shared tables. These authors hail from the Central Valley, the Central Coast, and the neighboring foothill and mountain communities. The diverse lineup will cater to a wide range of readers, with books from various genres including children's fiction/non-fiction, young adult, mystery/thriller/suspense, romance, science fiction, fantasy, urban fantasy and paranormal romance, horror, non-fiction, memoir, and poetry.

Lorie Lewis Ham, the Editor-in-Chief of an unspecified publication and a contributor to various sections of the entertainment world, is a key contributor to the Heart of California Book Faire. She is also an author herself, with her latest mystery series being the Tower District Mystery Series, which includes the books One of Us and One of You, set in the Tower District of Fresno and the world of community theatre.

Roh Morgan, the co-chair of the 2025 Heart of California Book Faire, has announced that well-known Valley author David Mas Masumoto and his daughter, Nikiko Masumoto, will be the featured speakers at the event. A separate room will be dedicated to author discussion panels and readings.
