Gear up for a grand celebration in Werden! The Evangelical Church of Werden, consecrated on June 24, 1900, is turning 125, and we're inviting everyone to join the festivities from June 19 to December 13. Prepare for a diverse program that reflects the community's vibrancy, making it a perfect opportunity to unwind and join in the fun (all for free!).

Center Stage: The Majestic Walcker Organ

Celebrating with us on June 24, 1900, was the Walcker Organ, a masterpiece from the renowned Ludwigsburg workshop Walcker & Cie. As the Essen General-Anzeiger noted back then, "The overall effect of the organ is characterized by majesty, nobility, and dignity."

Kick-starting the celebration on June 19 is the "Days of the Organ" festival, featuring various organ concerts and an evening with dancers and the organ. On June 23, a special event - aptly named "the organ will really be running hot" - will see alternating organists playing the instrument from 12 noon until just before midnight, honoring its grandeur (🎹🌟).

Moreover, don't miss the high-caliber anniversary concert on July 4 with Markus Kaleschke on the organ and the concert choir Nyklang.

A House of Worship and Community

On June 24, a Taizé prayer will take place in the beautiful church, commemorating the church's birthday. Another special event is the traditional open-air service for all generations on July 6, which will end with the congregation entering the church on Heckstraße, just like 125 years ago (👩‍👧‍👦🎉).
