Dresden's Elbe Cycle Path Reopens After Bridge Demolition
Dresden's Elbe Cycle Path has reopened, allowing pedestrians and cyclists to enjoy the riverside once again. The construction site for the Carolabrücke bridge demolition has been cleared, marking the end of a significant phase in the area's renewal.
The city of Dresden has completed the renovation of the Elbe Cycle Path along the Neustädter Elbufer. The path, now passable again, features new asphalt, ensuring a smooth ride for cyclists. The path's reopening follows the dismantling of the construction site for the Carolabrücke bridge demolition, which had been ongoing since the bridge's partial collapse in 2024.
The city, responsible for the bridge's renovation, had planned extensive work including sealing, reinforced concrete caps, rail tracks, and structural repairs. An official contract and tender process preceded the work, ensuring a thorough and transparent approach to the project.
With the Elbe Cycle Path now reopened and the Carolabrücke bridge demolition site cleared, Dresden residents and visitors can once again enjoy the scenic Elbe riverfront. The city's comprehensive renovation work ensures the path's longevity and safety for all users.
