The Heroines of Sound Festival 2025 is set to captivate audiences with a diverse lineup of performances, showcasing experimental sound art and music. This two-part event, taking place from July 4 to July 12, is a celebration of musical achievements, particularly those of women and non-binary individuals in the electronic music industry.

The festival kicks off with the first part, "Lullabyte", a unique sleep concert at ZK/U from 10 PM to 7 AM on July 4. Alice Eldridge and Kirsten Reese create immersive soundscapes and eco-acoustic landscapes using nature recordings, electronic sounds, and live elements. This performance, part of a multi-year research-art project on sleep and music, explores how music and sound affect sleep and perception of time. Tickets and more information can be found on the festival's website.

Before the "Lullabyte" event, an improvisational quartet performance takes place at Peppi Guggenheim.

On July 4, Coup Coup featuring Almut Kühne, a quartet blending post-punk, sound art, and free jazz, will perform at Peppi Guggenheim, starting at 8 PM. Donations are welcome.

On July 9, pianist Eunyoung Kim and cellist Okkyung Lee will join forces with bassist Nick Dunston at Galileo Church for a musical conversation with influences ranging from classical to noise. The performance, starting at 8 PM, is separate from the Coup Coup featuring Almut Kühne performance at Peppi Guggenheim and costs €15.

The third day of the festival, on July 11, sees a collaboration between Ensemble Apparat, Viola Yip, Camilla M. Fehér, Auguste Vickunaitė, and Darla Quintana (Mit). Their program includes a flamenco-themed segment titled *Sevilla en Berlín - Flamenco puro* and the somatic piece *TAW’AM*, investigating twinship, emotional loss, and interrupted connection. The performance takes place at ZK/U.

Contemporary musicians Oblivia and Chikiss will also feature on July 10, though specific details about their performances are not yet available.

Composer and sound artist Galina Ozeran is also participating in the festival, but details about her performance are not yet disclosed.

On July 10-12, Oblivia will present the German premiere of "Reality Bang", a music theater piece addressing the "big bang of reality" in the climate crisis, with a touch of humor. This performance takes place at Radialsystem, and more information and tickets can be found on the Radialsystem website (radialsystem.de).
