Dolphins being sold at an auction

The much-anticipated Dolphin Discovery Trail auction is set to take place tonight at the Peninsula Hotel. Over 70 tickets have been sold for the event, which will support two local charities - Autism Guernsey and the GSPCA (Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

The auction will feature 62 unique dolphin statues, including the one designed and decorated by the Midnight Painters Club, named Flippertron. This particular statue is currently on display at the Peninsula Hotel, and it was also the lucky find of Express team members who used the Turfhunt app to discover the dolphin statues scattered across Guernsey and Herm. More than 1,000 people participated in this exciting hunt.

The auction will be hosted by John Randall and is expected to continue until 19.30. However, there will be a brief intermission for a raffle during the event.

The evening will begin with a warm welcome, drinks, and canapés at 18.00. At 18.30, Steve Byrne, the GSPCA Manager, and Andrew Sparks, board member of Autism Guernsey, will deliver a special welcome message.

For those who haven't managed to secure a ticket, don't worry! The public viewing of the dolphin statues will take place before the event starts at 18.00. And if you're still interested in bidding for one of the statues, they are still available to bid for on the fundraiser's website.

So, join us tonight at the Peninsula Hotel for an evening of art, charity, and camaraderie. Let's support Autism Guernsey and the GSPCA in their noble causes.
