Dining at Cicchetti Piccadilly transports you to a Venetian sunset ambiance. Our meal selection includes:

In the heart of London, at 172-173 Piccadilly, W1J 9EJ, the San Carlo Group has moved its beloved Cicchetti restaurant to a new, larger venue, spanning 7,520 sq ft. The design inspiration behind the new Cicchetti Piccadilly is strongly rooted in Venetian architecture and the colours of a Venetian sunset, capturing the "magic of dusk" in Venice.

The interior design studio Fettle drew on elements such as the glossy wooden water taxis (vaporetti) that glide along Venice’s canals, Venetian frescos, and traditional craftsmanship like Murano glass chandeliers to evoke a timeless, captivating atmosphere reflective of Venice.

Key design features include a bar with a high-gloss timber front, red-pink mosaic tiles, and pink geometric upholstered stools, creating a dramatic and theatrical ambiance. Large verre églomisé (gilded glass) murals and mirrored arches reflect light and add a soft, reflective finish reminiscent of Venetian gilding techniques.

Walls painted in warm yellow tones, inspired by Venetian villa frescos, are accented with scalloped borders and chequered patterns to modernize the classical references. The use of terrazzo flooring with chequerboard and striped patterns sourced from Italy complements the overall Venetian theme. Details such as bevelled mirror ceilings and gold-leaf accents enhance the palatial and elegant impression of the space.

The private dining room shares the same warm color palette and reflective surfaces as the bar and main dining area. The chequerboard pattern is present in the restaurant, while striped, scalloped detailing is found in the bar area. The main dining space has vibrant yellow walls, mirrored tiles, and verre eglomise mural panels that reflect chandelier light and soften the ceiling.

Cicchetti Piccadilly's extensive menu offers a wide selection of Italian classics, available from noon until near midnight. The stylish tempura prawns, dressed with spicy mayonnaise and served in a cocktail glass, are a popular starter. The team recommends ordering two to three dishes per person and sharing them as they become ready.

The design of Cicchetti Piccadilly aims to modernize the look and feel of the original restaurant, harmonizing pink and yellow hues to symbolize the changing light of dusk in Venice, complemented by bespoke upholstered furniture in greens and pinks. Marble palladiana is used in the toilets.

Overall, the design conveys the essence of a Venetian bacari (small bar or tavern) but modernized with vibrant colour blocking and a composition that balances classical touches with contemporary style, reflecting both the history and vibrant energy of Venice in a London setting. Thus, the Cicchetti Piccadilly design is inspired by Venetian sunsets, traditional craftsmanship, and architectural motifs, creating an inviting and elegant restaurant atmosphere that celebrates both Venice's heritage and a modern dining experience.
