DetCon Extends Public Bath Hours Despite Staff Shortages

DetCon, the operator of Detmolder public baths, has announced the opening hours for the next three weeks. Miriam Mikus, the managing director, expressed gratitude to both the professional staff and volunteers for their commitment amidst staff shortages.

Starting July 7, each of the four public baths will close only one day a week. The exact days for each bath are yet to be confirmed. DetCon has not yet provided specific opening hours for Detmold's outdoor pools for the week starting July 28, 2025. However, indoor pools in nearby Lage and the outdoor pool in Bad Meinberg, which is generally open from 11:00 to 19:00 during school holidays, can be used as references.

To combat staff shortages, DetCon has recruited additional lifeguards, including some from the Detmold fire department. The company is also planning to extend opening hours by the end of July with further personnel reinforcements.
