Crafting a Sympathy Wreath: A Step-by-Step Guide

The DIY peace wreath trend is taking the crafting world by storm, and it's all thanks to Lindsey from Makely School for Girls. This chic and modern wreath, inspired by the $50 Inner Peace Wreath from CB2, can be crafted for less than half the price, making it an affordable and stylish addition to your home decor.

To create your own CB2-inspired peace wreath, follow these simple steps:

1. **Get a grapevine wreath**: The size can be whatever you want; bigger or smaller is fine. If you buy a new one, you can skip removing existing florals.

2. **Remove any existing floral decorations**: If you get a used wreath with florals, take them all off to start with a bare grapevine wreath.

3. **Collect straight sticks**: Go outside and find straight sticks for making the peace sign inside the wreath. You'll need about 11 sticks in total, with 3 long sticks in the middle vertical line and 4 sticks on each side for the peace symbol arms.

4. **Assemble the peace sign**: Use hot glue or strong craft glue to attach the sticks onto the grapevine wreath in the peace sign pattern.

5. **Final touches**: You can paint the sticks or add a little greenery or flowers if desired, but the simplified natural look is close to the CB2 wreath style and very affordable.

This method lets you create a chic and modern peace wreath for around $17, significantly cheaper than the CB2 $50 version, while maintaining the same style and vibe. If you want to extend creativity, you might also explore resin or floral additions, but the key to the CB2-inspired wreath is the minimalist grapevine + stick peace symbol design.

The peace wreath's twine was camouflaged using grapevine wire or brown floral wire, purchased from Hobby Lobby. The peace wreath was incorporated into an everyday mantle and is planned to be used for a Christmas mantle, with lights added to the wreath for its Christmas display.

The peace wreath project is one of the decor projects created for Knocktoberfest 2013, an event involving 28 bloggers creating "knock off" decor projects from various stores. This approach captures the essence of the CB2 Inner Peace Wreath affordably.
