Betty Noble Shor, a renowned physical oceanographer and dedicated historian, spent her entire career at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) in La Jolla, California, after moving there in 1953. Unfortunately, Shor passed away on October 13, 20XX, at her family home in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her passing was a sad event for many of her colleagues and friends. She is survived by her children, Alexander Noble Shor, Carolyn Elizabeth Shor Large, and Donald Williston Shor, as well as seven grandchildren.
