The historic manor known as "Old House" at Gutshaus Scharpzow bei Malchin, a popular tourist destination and cultural hub, has recently been listed for sale online for around 1.28 million euros [1]. The manor, which is home to luxury camping, paper cutting workshops, and a bar, has been undergoing a restoration project with a budget of 200,000 euros, of which 20,000 euros came from the city of Malchin [1].

The owners, Nina Hollensteiner and Albrecht Pischel, who are renowned for their work in the TV series "With Courage, Mortar, and Without Millions," had planned to revitalize the manor with the restoration project. However, they unexpectedly found a better location for their horse breeding operations 80 kilometers away in Strasburg (Uckermark), causing them to put the estate up for sale [1].

Despite the sale, the restoration project is formally underway with financial support. The city of Malchin granted a 20,000 Euro subsidy for the restoration of the manor's historic hall, with 80% funding from the EU and 10% from the owners themselves [1]. The restoration project had been featured in an NDR series highlighting the owners' efforts.

The restoration includes the installation of historical wallpaper and paper cut in the style of the manor's past. The craftsmen are ready, and the hall is expected to be finished for the first exhibitions and events in November [1].

The new owners are hoped to continue the cultural salon concept initiated by Nina Hollensteiner and Albrecht Pischel. The manor's sale raises questions about its ongoing operation as a cultural salon and tourist destination. City councilor Christian Skotnik recently asked about this in the city's budget meeting [2].

Meanwhile, Nina Hollensteiner and Albrecht Pischel are unaware that they will move from Neuensund, another historic manor they had been operating, until eight weeks ago. The Gutsensemble Neuensund, almost 250 years old and including a large barn, remains in their care [3]. They breed the endangered Old Mecklenburg Line horses at Neuensund [3].
