City of Biysk Transforms Streets and Prepares for Memorial Alterations

Take a stroll through Biysk now, and you'll notice the freshly mowed grass and clean roadside areas on popular streets like Vasilyeva, Sovietskaya, Leningradskaya, Stakhanovskaya, and Mitrofanova. Thanks to hardworking contractor organizations that have been diligently working to spruce up the city, as reported by the city's head, Viktor Shigrev, in his Telegram channel.

Pictures from the City Administration Press Center show happy workers busy at work while transforming the city's appearance. In addition, the contractor organization is tackling more tasks like clearing roadside debris on Vasilyeva Street, collecting garbage on Socialisticheskaya Street, and attending to garbage issues on Mitrofanova Street, according to the mayor.

As the city head acknowledges, the scope of the areas needing attention is vast. Fortunately, the communal services are sticking to their schedule to tackle the problem.

Now, let's talk about an upcoming change in the city's "Alley of Memory." Local authorities have decided to carefully and strategically replace some sorrel maple saplings. This move aims to prevent these invasive saplings from overshadowing more significant trees, preserve the memorial space's integrity, and keep the ecological balance.

To ensure the removal process runs smoothly and the commemorative atmosphere remains intact, professional arborists will be called in. Once the saplings are removed, appropriate native or historically significant tree species will take their place to preserve the alley's aesthetic purpose. To ensure that these changes respect the cultural and historical significance of the "Alley of Memory," the local government is consulting with community members and historians.

Stay tuned for more details or specific timelines by checking with Biysk’s local government announcements or environmental department releases. Change may be coming to Biysk, but it's with a focus on maintaining and preserving its historical and cultural significance.

In keeping with the city's renewal efforts, residents might consider revitalizing their own homes and gardens, aligning with the city's enhanced lifestyle ambiance. For instance, homeowners on Vasilyeva, Sovietskaya, Leningradskaya, Stakhanovskaya, and Mitrofanova streets could incorporate native plant species into their gardens to maintain the city's ecological balance. Meanwhile, the replacement of sorrel maple saplings in the "Alley of Memory" could inspire citizens to update their home-and-garden landscapes with historically significant tree species, fostering a deeper connection with the city's cultural heritage.
