Charlotte Jean (Milacek) Bailey: A Life of Love and Legacy

Charlotte Jean (Milacek) Bailey, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on November 14, 1939, in Waukomis, Oklahoma, Charlotte spent her life in Ranchester, Wyoming, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, family traditions, and countless memories.

Charlotte's life was marked by her dedication to education and her influence on her children. She spent several years in the field, inspiring many of them to follow in her footsteps and pursue teaching. More specific details about her educational background and professional career, however, are not widely available.

Charlotte married Charles T. Bailey in 1959 and is survived by her husband, as well as her sons Stephen and Harold Bailey, daughters Charlene Ketcham, Holly Hoffman, and Brian Bailey. She also leaves behind sixteen great-grandchildren and a brother, David Milacek of Enid, Oklahoma.

The Celebration of Life for Charlotte will be held at the Champion Kane Funeral Home reception hall. A Service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Sheridan, Wyoming. Inurnment will take place after the reception at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery in the Juniper Heights Section.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Martin Luther Grammar School at 1300 West 5th Street, Sheridan, Wy 82801.

Charlotte was known for her kindness, giving of herself endlessly without asking for anything in return. Her cooking was more than just food; it was love served on a plate, shared across generations. Beyond her family, Charlotte enjoyed the outdoors, sewing, bowling, and coffee with the neighbors.

Charlotte was the heart of her family, providing unwavering love, strength, and comfort. Her grandchildren include Erik Ketcham, Erin Andersen, Phillip Hoffman, Joseph Hoffman, Hannah Hoffman, Annalee Tromble, Billie Bailey, and Grace Bailey.

The family has entrusted local arrangements to Champion Kane Funeral Home. Online Condolences can be posted at www.kanefuneral.com. A luncheon and Celebration of Life will follow the service. Kindness defined Charlotte; she will be deeply missed.
