Burlington's Repair Cafe Celebrates Six Years, Now Fixing Textiles for Free

Burlington's Repair Cafe is celebrating six years of service, now offering textile repairs alongside other items, all for free. The community initiative will be open on Saturdays, July 19 and August 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its permanent home, St. Christopher's Church.

The Repair Cafe was founded six years ago in Burlington, operating under the 'Bring It - Fix It - For Free' motto. It initially focused on repairing various items, but has now expanded its services to include textiles. Most repairs are offered free of charge, with only special parts required for certain repairs being covered on a cost recovery basis.

The Repair Cafe is a community-driven initiative that aims to reduce waste and encourage repair over replacement. It operates every Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at St. Christopher's Church, which has been its permanent home since its inception.

The Burlington Repair Cafe can be contacted via email at [email protected]. It welcomes the community to bring in items in need of repair, contributing to a sustainable and waste-free environment.
