Bicycle Action Day Invitation from KAP1 Lab, sponsored by ADFC
On March 7, from 11 am to 3 pm, the ADFC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club) will host a Cycling Action Day at Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz 1. This event aims to promote cycling safety, security, and skills among participants in collaboration with local authorities.
The day will be filled with engaging activities, including a bike coding session, repair workshops, free bike checks, and a traffic quiz.
Participants can have their bicycles coded for improved security and identification during the bike coding session. This service is available for a fee of 5 euros for ADFC members and 10 euros for non-members. However, those who join the ADFC during the coding session will have it done for free.
Expert-led repair workshops will be held every hour from 12 pm, focusing on bike tire repairs and minor fixes. These workshops are designed to help cyclists learn how to maintain their bikes.
Volunteer ADFC experts will also perform free bike checks between the repair workshops, ensuring that bicycles are in safe and good working condition.
A traffic quiz, suitable for both children and adults, will be available throughout the event. This interactive quiz focuses on traffic rules and cycling safety.
In addition to these activities, the ADFC will provide information about their cycling school and local group tours. The cycling school offers courses for beginners and advanced cyclists, while the group tours provide opportunities to explore Berlin's cycling routes with fellow enthusiasts.
The event will start with a bike coding session, and participants are required to bring their ID and proof of bike ownership (such as a purchase receipt). The event will take place in front of the central library entrance, at the VHS foyer, and in the KAP1 Lab.
This Cycling Action Day is a fantastic opportunity for Berlin's cyclists to learn, share, and improve their cycling skills while promoting safety and security. So, mark your calendars and join the ADFC on March 7 for a day full of cycling fun and learning!
