Arnsberg Set to Host the RuhrCleanUp Event on September 13, 2025

Arnsberg, Germany, is gearing up for its annual "Arnsberg cleans up" action, with a special focus on the "RuhrCleanUp" event taking place on September 13, 20XX at 10 am. This year's action is a significant step towards achieving global sustainability goals, particularly SDG 14 ("Life Below Water"), SDG 12 ("Sustainable Consumption and Production"), SDG 15 ("Life on Land"), SDG 11 ("Sustainable Cities and Communities"), and Agenda 2030.

The RuhrCleanUp is not a new initiative. It has been a part of the city's efforts to maintain a clean and sustainable environment for several years. This year, thousands of volunteers from across the country will join forces to clean the riverbanks from the source to the mouth, including in Arnsberg.

The city's participation in the RuhrCleanUp aligns with the global sustainability agenda, aiming to reduce pollution in the Rhine and Ruhr rivers, as part of the initiatives RhineCleanUp and RuhrCleanUp. The Technical Services of Arnsberg will provide trash bags and gloves at each of the four meeting and collection points in the city: Oeventrop (Oase car park), Alt-Arnsberg (Feauxweg/Campus Eichholz car park), Bruchhausen (car park at the sports club), and Neheim (Ohl bridge/Möhne mouth).

The action has been successful in previous years, with the city's commitment to global sustainability evident in its continuous efforts to clean and protect its local environment. Environmental organizations, initiatives, clubs, companies, or neighbourhood groups can join the respective Arnsberg CleanUps via the website www.ruhrcleanup.org.

Moreover, the city's participation in the RuhrCleanUp supports the global sustainability goal of sustainable cities and communities. By participating in this action, individuals can contribute to the broader mission of reducing the amount of waste that enters seas via rivers, specifically the Rhine and Ruhr.
