Arnsberg Acquires 'Unterm Luisenberg 6-10' for Residential Development

Arnsberg has acquired the property 'Unterm Luisenberg 6-10' for urban development. The city plans to transform the 3,000 m2 site into a residential area over the next three to five years. The first watch includes making the building habitable for two refugee families by the end of 2025.

The property, previously owned by a local real estate investor, includes a semi-detached house, a dilapidated storage and production building, and an old air-raid shelter. The city's decision to acquire the site was made in March 2025 by the Main and Finance Committee. Following the takeover in late May, immediate safety measures were initiated.

The city aims to meet the growing demand for residential land in Old Arnsberg. The current plan involves demolishing the hall and determining the future use of the residential property. The storage and production building, in poor condition, is also slated for demolition by the end of 2025.

The acquisition of 'Unterm Luisenberg 6-10' presents an opportunity for Arnsberg to expand its residential offerings. The city plans to develop the property over the next few years, with the first phase set to be completed by the end of 2025.
