Annual pickle celebration in vicinity of NYC showcases more than a hundred vendors and an exclusive pickle juice drinking competition, limited to a single day
The much-anticipated Rosendale International Pickle Festival is set to return for its 13th year, showcasing pickles and preserving traditions from around the world. This annual event, one of America's oldest and largest, will take place at the Ulster County Fairgrounds (249 Libertyville Rd, New Paltz) on October 19, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
This year's festival promises to be a delightful experience, with over 100 vendors offering a variety of goods. From hot food and baked goods to arts and crafts, jewelry, and pickles, there's something for everyone. Many vendors accept credit cards, and ATMs will be available on site for cash transactions.
Admission for adults is $5 per person, payable in cash only. Children under 12 are admitted for free. For those travelling from New York City, the Ulster County Fairgrounds is approximately two hours away. A free UCAT shuttle is available between Rosendale and New Paltz, running every hour.
The festival is not just about food and shopping. It also hosts a Pickle Triathlon, which includes a Pickle Eating Contest, Pickle Juice Drinking Contest, and Pickle Toss. If you think you have what it takes, this is your chance to prove it!
The Rosendale International Pickle Festival also gives back to the community. Its proceeds are donated to the local library, youth center, food pantry, and more, making it a truly community-focused event.
