St. Anthony and Isidore Brotherhood of Tecklenburg's Annual Festival Kicks Off
The small town of Tecklenburg in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, is gearing up for a week-long celebration starting from August 22nd. Hosted by the St. Anthony and Isidore Brotherhood, the festivities promise a blend of tradition and entertainment for all ages.
The celebrations begin on Monday, August 25th, with a memorial service and a traditional Dämmer-schoppen starting at 7 PM, accompanied by music from DJ Lukas Huelbusch. On the same day, an ecumenical service will take place at 5 PM.
Tuesday, August 26th, is dedicated to family fun. Games and entertainment in the festival tent start from 2 PM, followed by coffee and cake being served from 3 PM.
Wednesday, August 27th, sees a village evening come to life, featuring performances by Tecklenburg associations and shooting groups, with DJ Lukas Huelbusch providing the music.
The Kränzer evening, a highlight of the festival, takes place on Friday, August 22nd, at 7 PM in the festival tent on the fairgrounds, accompanied by DJ Dennis.
The parade on the Helmeskamp will take place at 5:30 PM on Sunday, August 24th. The day also includes the festive high mass at 9:30 AM, followed by the grand procession at 3:30 PM. The King's gala ball and party band Prestige will start at 8 PM on the same day.
Saturday, August 23rd, is filled with traditional activities, including the Maienfahren with heavy horses, the raising of the maypole at 6 PM, and a fair disco with DJ Dennis starting at 1 PM.
