Annual Gem-A Photographer Contest Resumes in 2019!
The Gem-A Photographer of the Year competition, a renowned event in the world of gemmology photography, has opened for entries. This year, the competition features new rules, a revamped judging process, and attractive prizes for participants.
The competition, which is open now and will accept entries until August 30, 2019, aims to showcase unusual or insightful aspects of the gemstone sector. Unlike previous years, the competition does not have categories this year. Instead, it encourages unique interpretations of gemstones, gemmology, and the wider trade.
Interested photographers with an interest in gems and jewelry are invited to participate, regardless of their membership status with Gem-A. The competition is open to both amateurs and professionals.
The overall winner of the competition will receive a £300 voucher to spend at Gem-A Instruments and one year's free Membership of Gem-A. Two runners up will win a £50 Gem-A Instruments voucher. All three winning entries will be published in the Gems&Jewellery magazine, with the possibility of featuring on the cover, the Last Impression, or the Big Picture feature page.
Entries can include photographs of jaw-dropping jewelry, intricate gemstone photomicrography, or spectacular scenes from gemstone mining or trading. The competition welcomes creative and technically skilled submissions that capture the beauty of gemstones and the gemmology sector.
