Animated series featuring Benjamin Blümchen debuts
Benjamin Blossom, a beloved childhood figure, returns to television screens in a new animated series. The children's channel Toggo will broadcast 26 episodes, featuring computer-generated visual effects, airing every Monday to Friday at 10.10 am in double episodes. Toggo, a daily children's programming block on RTL Super, will air these episodes until 8:15 pm.
Fans can also stream all episodes on toggo.de, the Toggo app, and RTL+. The production of these episodes is by Kiddinx, a children's label.
RTL Germany announced that the new episodes will resonate with the spirit of the original while focusing on contemporary themes such as friendship, imagination, and helpfulness. The narrative will encompass various settings, including the zoo, neighborhood, and experimental problem-solving scenarios. These adventures will depict Benjamin Blossom—a talking elephant with a large heart—and his best friend Otto, illustrating teamwork, fun, and warmth.
The series targets children in the pre-school age group. RTL positively appraises the high-quality computer animation, clear visual language, and age-appropriate storytelling. Alongside Benjamin and Otto, characters such as reporter Karla Kolumna, zoo director Tierlieb, and animal keeper Karl will be featured.
Previously, the adventures of the character created by Elfie Donnelly have been adapted for the screen, including an animated series in the 90s and cinema productions. In the United States, the series can be watched on Cartoon Network, debuting on April 5, 2025, followed by streaming on Max the next day[1]. The new series is likely to follow the familiar format of animated shows aired on Cartoon Network, centered around the character Benjamin Blossom and delivering adventures or life lessons typical of the network's programming.
Fans can enjoy Benjamin Blossom's lifestyle and home-and-garden adventures as he explores various settings like the zoo and neighborhood in the new animated series. The series showcases the warm relationship between Benjamin, an elephant with a large heart, and his best friend Otto, teaching children about friendship, imagination, and helpfulness.
